Why You Need To Think Carefully About Permanent Hair Removal

Permanent hair removal is not easy to achieve, and the methods by which it can be achieved are still very much imperfect. All of them involve some degree of risk and discomfort, even though the majority of them have been passed as safe and licensed for use. The major exception to this is X-ray removal, which is ironically the most effective way of permanently removing hairs. It is, however, highly dangerous, and can lead to permanent disfigurement and even premature death. It is, and will certainly remain, illegal in the United States.

There are many different types of people who want a permanent solution to unsightly facial hair. Some are undergoing chemical treatments, others are about to undergo an operation to change gender. These are the most extreme and demanding of all body hair removals. It is always recommended that someone who is about to undergo such an operation have all of their hair removed before it takes place, but financial constraints usually prevent this from happening. Thousands of others want the treatment for cosmetic reasons, but there is always a price to be paid.

Whether you are going to be using electrolysis or laser treatment, there is no system which is free of pain or risk. These risks can be reduced considerably, but they can never be eliminated. With modern hair removal systems, the more effective the system the more likely it is to have a negative side effect. It is important to prepare yourself psychologically and be sure that this is what you want to do. Remember, there are always other solutions, even if those solutions need to be applied a lot more often.

If you have considered the options and decided that permanent hair removal is definitely for you, you need to then decide on the system you will use. Laser hair removal now has many years of successful history, although there are still issues to be overcome. If you have very dark hair and light skin, this system will probably work well for you, although there are now laser treatments even for dark skinned people. The current Yag laser treatments are more effective than the old ruby laser treatments, but they do have a higher level of temporary discomfort.

Before you finally decide on the type of permanent hair removal you want, do your research. Find out how effective each system is and how much risk it entails. When you know the system you want to try, give it a try on a small area first if you can. If you know anyone who has had this type of treatment carried out in the past, try to get a referral if you can. Although laser treatment has been passed as safe, there are things which can go wrong, so be as safe as you can with permanent hair removal.
